Safety is our main priority in everything we do and we have an impeccable safety record.
Equipment
Our equipment is all UIAA and CE approved, we keep a record of equipment and safety check it every time we use it.
Insitue equipment
Yangshuo is a climbing destination with a sport climbing ethic. The routes haveion with a sport climbing ethic. The routes have been created by many people from all over the world. There are no regulations governing the creation of climbing routes in China at present. However we're pleased to report that the bolting in Yangshuo has been done to a high standard and many of the regular climbers and visitors to Yangshuo help with the creation of new routes and the maintenance and re-bolting of old ones.
Training and qualifications
Karst is owned by Echo Wu who is a qualified climbing guide by the China Mountaineering Council. Eben Farnworth is the Manger and he holds a UK rock climbing instructor qualifications SPA, ML, MIA training as well as UK Kayak, canoe, power boat and white water risqué qualifications. Karst climber believes the training and experience of its staff and quality of its equipment is the reason for its excellent safety record.
Risk assessment
We carry out site specific, written risk assessments on all our group venues and activities. Our risk assessment model is based on the British Health and Safety Executives; 5 Steps to Risk Assessment Strategy.
